About our remote services:

2 Tails Veterinary Services LLC is a mobile-only mixed animal veterinary practice owned and operated by Dr. Julie Stafford. Dr. Julie has been providing part time services to  rural communities for 4+ years, in October of 2019 she discontinued her clinical job to go full time in her vet van and has immensely enjoyed serving the more remote areas of Alaska’s road system.

With the vet van 2TailsVet can offer a variety of services including physical exams, nutritional and behavioral consults, diagnostic laboratory services, vaccinations, deworming, senior pet/quality of life consults, equine dentals, and more. At this time, we are not offering surgical or anesthetized procedures but hope that we may grow into that someday in the future!

Remote appointment info:

While some of the best parts of mobile veterinary medicine are the trips around Alaska we take, planning these can be a bit of a nightmare. Luckily our clients have always been very welcoming, gracious, and understanding that pin-pointing an exact exam time can be tough. Between difficult weather, unanticipated or complex medical conditions, and the occasional “while you are here…” it is easy for us to get behind schedule. Because of this we ask for your flexibility in appointment time. We promise to do our very best to be timely but also to provide comprehensive compassionate veterinary care which sometimes means taking the extra time.

As a mobile veterinarian Dr. Julie will come to you, which means that you can be in the comfort of your own home and even more importantly, you may find your animal actually enjoys seeing the vet. With our van we have everything we need with us and are comfortable working indoors or outdoors, with or without power and/or running water. Dr. Julie does not always travel with an assistant, so we may need you to hold your own pet as directed.
